Ray described feeling “traumatised” by desperately trying to help elderly people who sometimes go five days without food and mothers who do not have underwear for their kids.
"We still have to manage until September 7 with no money and I still have to pay out for electricity as I am on pay as you go."
The artist, Sandy Brown, admitted she felt “saddened and disappointed” at the reaction, explaining that her work was intended to celebrate “mother earth” rather than having any sort of religious message.
She says she has been foregoing meals so her kids can eat - and has even thought about begging to make ends meet.
Several species of shark visit the waters off Cornwall every year, including blue sharks, porbeagle sharks and basking sharks.
