By Alex Lodge (@alexlodgemusic | Insta @alexlodgemusic7) Alex Lodge is a music supervisor for film, TV and advertising at Studio 32 Music.  Welcome to the Weekly Report Vol. 30. It's raining, it's miserable and David Bowie is dead. Not a great deal to recommend today, apart from this playlist of course. We start off with a great calypso song about London and finish with a prophetic track from Bowie's latest album. Happy listening… https://play.spotify.com/user/11123730619/playlist/30p3rVWgUZyLfC6Bws7ge8

The Nation’s Favourite David Bowie Songs

Two of David Bowie’s out-of-this-world hits have topped a chart of the nation's 40 favourites from his vast repertoire. His 1969 single ‘Space Oddity’ was voted number one, with 21 per cent of the vote, closely followed by ‘Life On Mars’. The 1983 smash-hit ‘Let’s Dance’, produced by legendary disco mastermind Nile Rodgers, was third, ahead of 1972’s ‘Starman’ and his 1985 duet with Mick Jagger ‘Dancing In The Street’. A spokesman for research experts OnePoll.com, which conducted the survey...

By Ben Gelblum The death of pop legend David Bowie, aged 69 just days after releasing his 28th studio album, the haunting Backstar, has inspired tributes from pretty much everybody who woke up to the sad news today. Perhaps our favourite tribute to The Man Who Fell To Earth, then reinvented himself endlessly, is Soulwax's "Dave" - a flawless one hour mix by Belgium's eccentric Dewaele brothers of their favourite Bowie hits. Premiering in 2012, as part of the Radio Soulwax project that Soulwax aka 2manydjs hope...

Lost Property Celebrates Dada Centenary @ Cafe Oto

Marking 100 years to the day since of the debut Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich 1916, Lost Property presents an evening of performances and talks that draw on Dada as inspiration. Eschewing an overly retrospective approach - not least because Tristan Tzara’s original Dada Manifesto called for the “abolition of memory and archaeology” - they have instead picked a line-up of artists in whom some trace of the Dadaist sensibility can be felt: Performance: Phil Minton Sarah Kenchington Blood Stereo Ring...
