The UK is the first and so far only country to have left the EU and Brexit was and is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom). The official withdrawal was at 23:00 31 January 2020 GMT (00:00 CET).
EU officials have also spoken out about the UK government infringing the Northern Ireland protocol and the possibility of Scotland rejoining the bloc.
“Quite simply, this is a disgrace and a national embarrassment.”
“This has placed British businesses at a competitive disadvantage and reduced the incentive on the European Commission to negotiate measures that would lessen the burdens facing British producers."
"Today’s mafias are moving among countries and continents, and where they find weakness in international cooperation, they exploit that opportunity.”
‘No third country can enjoy the same benefits as an EU member’
“It’s a shitshow,” Count Binface said when asked what he thinks about Brexit.
Barry Andrews, the Irish MEP for Dublin, also said the current brand of English Conservatives has an "unfortunate history with regards to international agreements".
"Brilliant as ever," said James O'Brien about the clip.
There are concerns in the EU that the UK had not yet fully complied with the terms of the earlier Brexit divorce deal and stressed that “vigilance” would be required in future.
