It comes as Liz Truss and Natalie Elphicke both hit out at the French for border delays which have seen holiday goers stuck for hours.
Travellers got out of their vehicles to stretch their legs while traffic was at a standstill in queues on Saturday.
The tweet was posted just a few months before Truss was made MP for South West Norfolk in the 2010 general election.
"Britons are now faced with the reality of travel post-Brexit, as more checks need to be carried out ", the Brexit-backing newspaper said.
They were warned that it would make queues at the port more likely.
"Since brexit it's been necessary to have every single passport stamped at Dover... and as a result of that everything takes much longer..."
