The case is putting pressure on the Home Office to provide answers after labelling those convicted of the offence as “people smugglers” and claiming small boat crossings were illegal.

Lady Jones said there is a "case to answer" for the Met "aiding and abetting a criminal offence, or deliberately failing to enforce the law in favour of government politicians and their staff".

The group claims their footage shows evidence of "death threats, animal abuse and road chaos" as well as a fox being illegally chased across fields.
