A financially expensive problem, that is; your inexperience makes you a bigger risk to insurers, who will accordingly offer you relatively high premiums. However, there remain ways of cutting the costs. While you can't just magic motorbike-riding experience out of thin air, keep in mind that...

Performed by a company of 13 world-class performers including actor Mikel Murfi, the contemporary adaption is interwoven with...

Cannabis triples risk of teen depression

Smoking pot can almost triple a teenager's risk of suffering depression, according to new research. A study of more than 3,000 teenagers found those who used cannabis were much more likely to suffer bipolar disorder by the time they reached adulthood. It found marijuana caused a condition known as 'hypomania' - periods of elated mood, overactive and excited behaviour and reduced need for sleep. These are telltale symptoms often experienced as part of severe depression - and have a serious...

Film Review: Happy End

By Anna Power Happy End is certainly far from happy - a heavy hint of the irony to be found in this darkest of satirical tales of familial dysfunction amid the bourgeoisie. Twisted from the outset, this misanthropic tale will make you squirm and laugh and often simultaneously. Haneke’s trade mark style is stamped all over this film from the guilty over-privilege of the wealthy, to the theme of assisted dying, following on from his 2014 Palme D’Or winning Amour,...
