Gas leak in West End sparks commuter chaos

A gas leak in the West End of London sparked commuter chaos this morning, with road closures and train services being hit. About 1,450 people were evacuated from a nightclub and hotel after the leak was discovered on Craven Street, just off the Strand, just after 02:00 GMT. London route launched to Lake District Airport as it reopens to commercial flights

Carlisle Lake District Airport is set to open to commercial flights this summer for the first time since 1993. The airport's owner Stobart Group said today the airport will connect Cumbria and the Lake District, which receives 41.5m visitors a year, with major tourism and business hubs including London, Dublin and Belfast. Passengers left stranded in Scottish Highlands after severe mudslide

A landslip has caused a train to derail in the Scottish Highlands -- causing travel chaos. Passengers were left stranded after the train struck severe mud on the track between Arisaig and Glenfinnan, Lochaber, at around 6.50am yesterday morning.
