Johnson allies plotting a way back for the PM when Truss ‘implodes’
A disastrous first few months of a Liz Truss premiership would be seen as an opportunity for him to swoop in, according to Mirror reports.
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a British politician and writer serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. He was Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs 2016-2018 and Mayor of London 2008-2016. Johnson has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015 and was previously MP for Henley from 2001 to 2008. He has been described as adhering to the ideology of one-nation and national conservatism.

“It’s all just one big party for Boris Johnson while the country struggles with the Tory cost of living crisis", a Labour spokesperson said.
Douglas Ross has recalled the moment he urged the Prime Minister to resign over the partygate affair.
"What a surprise. He’s normally so effective & proactive. Remember all those ‘big calls’ he got right?"
Labour’s deputy leader has said the Prime Minister has ‘let people down’ at a time when the public need the Government most.
"I found it odd because I hadn’t asked him," Ruth Davidson recalled at a recent Edinburgh Fringe event.
“The current crisis requires clear, focused and determined leadership and co-operation", the first minister said.
It comes after Nadine Dorries called on MPs conducting the inquiry to ‘quit the witch hunt’.
"The devotion is remarkable," one person said in response to the culture secretary's comments.
