It looks set to be one of the funniest moments in British political history when Nigel Farage faces off against Count Binface in next month’s Clacton by-election. And it looks like the by-election is catching the attention on the other side of the world as well, as proven by this Japanese TV news report that has gone viral.
No doubt all of you reading this will be more than aware about the upcoming showdown between Farage and Count Binface in Clacton in a few weeks.
After Farage decided to resign as MP and spark a by-election that he will stand in again, in a clear bid to distract from the parliamentary investigation into a £5m gift from a crypto billionaire, all the major parties saw through his plan and decided not to stand.

This has left Farage in a one-on-one contest with Count Binface (washed-up actor and failed London mayoral candidate Laurence Fox has also announced he is standing, but it’s no exaggeration to say he’s a less serious candidate than the man with a bin on his head).
The by-election is such a bizarre and funny story that a Japanese news channel have caught wind of it, and decided to run a news item on it.
And you don’t need to know any Japanese to get the gist of what they’re saying, or appreciate the comedy of it all.
As one of the journalists points to a picture of Binface, describing him as a someone whose “trademark is a trash can mask and a cape,” he then brings up a recent IPSOS poll which shows Binface has more support across the UK than Farage.
Over footage of Binface walking around London, the news anchor offers viewers some insight into the candidate.
The news item has since gone viral on social media, racking up thousands of views.
One person wrote that Farage has “managed to make himself look bad globally.”
Others accurately described it as “very amusing” and “truly hilarious.”
