Nigel Farage mentioned Clacton just twice in the Commons over the last year

It wouldn't be too hard for Count Binface to be a better representative for the people of Clacton.

Nigel Farage mentioned his constituency of Clacton just twice in the House of Commons over the last 12 months.

Whilst most MPs choose to use Commons interventions to raise local issues facing their constituents, it seems Farage has little time for the residents in of Clacton.

DeSmog revealed earlier this month that the now-former MP for Clacton had mentioned the are just twice over the last year.

It doesn’t get much better when you go further back to when he was first elected as MP in July 2024. Over the two years since then, he has referred to Clacton just six times in total. This is roughly once every four months.

You don’t even need to look beyond his party to see how remarkable this is.

Take Reform’s deputy leader Richard Tice for example, who has mentioned his constituency, Boston and Skegness, at least 34 times since entering Parliament.

Meanwhile, Lee Anderson – who is the only over Reform MP to have represented the party since the 2024 general election – has referred to his Ashfield seat on at least 28 occasions.

Of course, it remains to see whether Farage will get another chance in the future to give a rare shoutout to Clacton.

Farage resigned as an MP this month, before confirming he would stand again in what he labelled a “people versus the establishment” election.

But after all the major parties announced they would not stand candidates in the by-election, it may well be that in a few weeks time it’s Count Binface who will be representing the Clacton population.
