A national gym chain has been blasted for threatening fat people with alien abduction. A controversial 20ft-hight poster was erected in Derbyshire by Fit4Less showing a green alien and a person being beamed up by a green light into a spaceship. The text on the gigantic billboard reads: “They’re coming…and when they arrive they’ll take the FAT ones first!” It also says “Save yourself!” next to an arrow pointing to the gym’s website. Parliamentary advisory Natalie Harvey, 39, who founded Nottinghamshire charity...
Brits will protest outside Downing Street this weekend after similar protests in Iceland toppled Sigmundur Gunnlaugsson. Thousands of people in Iceland protested in front of the parliament building this week calling for the Prime Minister's resignation over the Panama Papers scandal. Demonstrators vented their anger following revelations that Gunnlaugsson once owned – and his wife still owns – an offshore investment company with multimillion-pound claims on Iceland’s failed banks. The Park Hyatt, the location for the film Lost in Translation, begins on the 41st floor of Shinjuku Park Tower and climbs steadily upwards to a rooftop swimming pool. Bicycles are available, complete with maps, packed...
Sport News 24/7 By Richard de Winter @rgdewinter @TLE_Sport The World T20 tournament may have only just finished, and Carlos Brathwaite’s final six may only just be beginning its downward trajectory (probably colliding with Jaap Stam’s penalty from Euro 2000 on the way), but fear not, you won’t be without your cricket fix for long, for the English County Championship season is about to start. TLE Sport went along to the Surrey CCC pre-season press day, in some rather unpromising...

However, today the PM has made a surprise u-turn describing Carr’s tax affairs as ‘nothing illegal’. George Osborne and David Cameron He also apologised for a 'previous misunderstanding' after the PM astonishingly took time out from the G20 summit in 2012 (where world leaders were discussing important stuff) to attack Carr and voice his disgust at tax avoidance schemes. The prime minister...

America's leading Republican candidates for president, Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, have rabidly loyal grassroots voters. Both men's supporters viscerally hate the other and use social media to slander and brutalise the other man. Outside the conservative bubble, there is barely a hair's breadth between Cruz and Trump. One is a religious zealot who makes hay with bigots, the other is a crypto-fascist demagogue who wins favour with self-styled racists. Both are beholden to the extreme right in the Republican...
