Loyalists and unionists are angry about post-Brexit trading arrangements which they claim have created barriers between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.

Angela Rayner, Labour’s deputy leader, said: “The prime minister must finally wake up to the threat of disinformation and conspiracy theories in his party’s ranks."

Schools alone cannot compensate for the “deeply damaging harm” done to pupils by the “cruel” effect of poverty.
