The Public Accounts Committee said the Home Office's renumeration scheme is too complex and slow.
The Police Federation of England and Wales said they no longer have confidence in Priti Patel.
Three-quarters of those taking part in a Home Office survey disagreed with Patel's immigration plans.
"There is no one in the country who think the government’s border policy worked to prevent the Delta variant spread in the UK," Yvette Cooper said.
"Just reading about Hungary where they’re banning protests, pushing through voter suppression and thinking of imprisoning journalists for 14 years and oh sorry that’s us," David Schneider said.
"You don't get to stoke the fire and then pretend to be disgusted when the very thing we're campaigning against happens."
The Home Office refused to say how much it had spent operating the controversial asylum centre.
"If Priti Patel wants to send asylum seekers to Rwanda she will have a fight on her hands. Not in our name," Ian Blackford said.
