Liz Truss will seek to stress the UK’s role in European matters – including Ukraine – despite leaving the EU.

Le Canard Enchaîné reported that Mr Macron called Mr Johnson a “clown” and a “knucklehead” as tensions ran high over the migrant crisis in the Channel.
“It is sad to see a major country with which we could do huge numbers of things led by a clown," he is believed to have said.
