Treasury admits: Brexit divorce bill could soar by £5 billion
The Treasury’s latest estimate put the figure at £42.5 billion – up from £37.3 billion a year ago.
The UK is the first and so far only country to have left the EU and Brexit was and is the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU) and the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euratom). The official withdrawal was at 23:00 31 January 2020 GMT (00:00 CET).

Universities UK (UUK), a group of 140 universities which previously described the loss of Horizon membership as “political self-harm”,
