Labour’s Sarah Champion said she was “incredulous” at this move and at a stroke the PM is diminishing the UK’s soft power.
"This mess was completely avoidable. The consequences are stark", the Labour leader said.
Boris Johnson's approval rating is down 29 points, according to the latest polling.
All eyes will be on the House of Commons at midday to see how the Prime Minister performs opposite the Labour leader.
The Labour leader spoke to Doncaster residents as he looks to win back voters in the traditional heartlands.
It comes as Starmer's net approval rating continues to soar as Johnson's slides.
Johnson accused the Labour leader of ‘feigning ignorance,’ as if Starmer already knows what is tragically going wrong, which means he can’t get the PM to also admit it.
