Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove, who has been in charge of the Government’s no-deal planning, said on Thursday that the chances of an agreement remained “less than 50%”.
Leaders in the European Parliament have set Sunday as a deadline for them to see the text of any deal that the negotiating teams agree.
The SNP’s Mike Russell, the Constitution Secretary for the Scottish Government, praised Mr Hendry for “speaking truth to power”.
Cornwall - which voted 56.5 per cent in favour of Leave - has applied for £700 million over the next decade from the government to replace cash from Brussels.
“If we have a bad Brexit, and we see some really draconian tariffs imposed on us, from what we would say is a man-made situation, we would find that fairly intolerable and fairly unacceptable moving forwards."
