There has been a surge in demand for Irish passports following the UK's vote to leave the European Union. Foreign affairs minister Charlie Flanagan urged British citizens with the right to an Irish passport to apply only if it was necessary after significant interest from Britons seeking to ensure their long-term right to free movement after Brexit. Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary says the airline will "pivot all its growth into the European Union" following the UK's vote to leave the single market. Britain has been offered its first trade deal outside the EU by Iceland's President hours before the two countries clash in Euro 2016. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson, Iceland's president , said the UK can join a 'triangle' of non-EU countries including Greenland, Iceland, Norway and the Faroe Islands.
