A fourth knife murder in four days is being investigated by detectives in London after a man in his fifties was found with multiple stab injuries.

Police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in Catford, south east London, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

They found the victim with multiple stab wounds at an address in Ringstead Road.

He was taken to a south London hospital, but was pronounced dead just before 5.30am on Saturday.

The victim, who has not been named, was the fourth person to be stabbed to death in the capital in just four days.

Simonne Kerr, 31, a nurse who starred as part of a the B Positive choir who reached the final of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, was stabbed to death at an address in Battersea on Wednesday afternoon.

A 40-year-old man appeared in court charged with her murder on Friday.

Joseph Cullimore, 42, died after being repeatedly stabbed at a house in Chingford, east London, in the early hours of Friday.

A 16-year-old boy, from Chingford, has been charged with his murder and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday.

A 35-year-old woman, also arrested on suspicion of Mr Cullimore’s murder, has been released pending further enquiries.

And a man in his fifties was stabbed to death at a flat off the Old Kent Road in south east London on Friday afternoon.

The scene in Madron Street was just one mile from where four teenagers were stabbed during a mass knife fight on Thursday afternoon.

Police probing the Catford murder are appealing for witnesses.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called on Saturday at 4am to a report of a stabbing at an address in Ringstead Road, Catford.

“Officers attended along with paramedics and found a man, believed to be in his 50s suffering from stab injuries.

“He was taken to a south London hospital where his life was pronounced extinct at 5.28am. His next of kin have not been informed. Formal identification awaits and a post mortem examination will be held in due course.

“The Homicide and Major Crime Command have been informed.

“There have been no arrests at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.”
