Fourpure Easy Peeler

With a name inspired by the four core ingredients used to produce beer (grain, yeast, hops and water), Fourpure Brewing Co. was launched as a family-run brewery in 2013. Operating from a site in Bermondsey, the brewery aims to craft the best possible beer, with exceptional attention to detail. Avoiding cutting corners, Fourpure’s rigorous quality control and brewing process has allowed the brewery to produce a remarkable range of beers, currently producing around 15,000 pints each day, supported by national listings in some of the country’s most recognisable retailers.

Seizing every opportunity to improve performance in the face of strong growth, Fourpure has prominent focus on sustainability and the environment at its fore. In 2014, the brewery began canning their beers, subsequently becoming the first London brewery to can their entire range. As well as promoting better quality control, canning is also a lighter, more sustainable packaging option – indefinitely recyclable. Also, with aluminium significantly lighter than glass, cans have a lower carbon footprint than bottles.

Inspired by “the open road”, the brewery’s latest addition, Easy Peeler, is a tangerine and citrus Session IPA. On pour, the beer is golden and topped with a foaming off-white head, vaunting prominent aromas of tangerine zest and orange juice. These citrus notes are backed by aromas of toasted grain, light malts and grassy hops. The aforementioned citrus notes, unsurprisingly, continue on the palate with plenty of pith and profound juiciness and a typically succinct IPA bitterness. Elsewhere, melon and light bread notes are distinguishable alongside some light caramel. With medium body and fine carbonation, Easy Peeler has a semi-drying, bitter finish: refreshing and easy drinking.
