“Christmas can be a time of excess and it is more and more causing people to think about how that impact can be mitigated," one union leader has said.
“We are quickly running out of time to protect children and future generations, and we’re demanding adults step up right now and rally a critical global response to the climate crisis," one young climate activist has said.
The teenage climate activist was recently filmed telling politicians to stick the climate crisis where the sun doesn't shine.
Greta has been making waves in Glasgow...even though she didn't get an invite.
"Getting into the spirit of Glasgow I see! Brilliant. Although, probably best to avoid the fried Mars bars if you value your digestive system Greta," tweeted one social media user.
Greta was not given a formal invite to the conference.
The climate activist mentioned a "heavily subsidised" plant which is the third biggest CO2 emitter in Europe and said that despite this, the UK government "still considers itself to be a global climate leader".
The "wonderful" and "uplifting" video has been shared widely across social media - including by Rick Astley himself.
