Labour suspects that it was Liz Truss’s official plastic he used to do it.
Since leaving office last September, Johnson has declared a similar income from speaking fees.
Lord Lexden wrote to the Daily Telegraph pointing out that Mr Johnson had been driven out of office through scandal and misconduct.
"The issues in Uxbridge and South Ruislip are also the key issues nationally – on the doorstep people say they feel poorer", he said.
The claims come on the back of reports that Boris Johnson joked about attending “the most unsocially distanced party” in the UK.
Stephen Flynn describes it as "utterly perverse" that senior Tories are "feathering their nests" by charging money for outside engagements.
The portrait was unveiled in the Carlton Club's Churchill Room which, ironically, is where Chris Pincher got up to no good last year, ultimately bringing down Johnson's government.
The claim is part of a number of new allegations made in an ITV podcast, Partygate: The Inside Story.
