Just when Sheeran probably thought things couldn't get any worse.

As Ed Sheeran continues to be the subject of anger over the Macklemore-Palestine controversy, the singer has received the last endorsement he needed.

Sheeran has been mired in controversy this week after rapper Macklemore was removed as a support act for expressing solidarity with Palestinians on stage.

Macklemore had made several onstage statements in support of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and called for a “free Palestine.”

In a statement shared on Instagram, Macklemore said he was dropped from the tour after Robert Kraft — the multi-billionaire owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium – threatened to ban Sheeran from playing at his venue if the rapper remained on the tour.

Sheeran said in a statement that he is not “complicit” in the outcome but confirmed venue owners had threatened to pull the tour entirely if Macklemore wasn’t dropped from the bill.

The English singer defended himself against the backlash to Macklemore’s removal from the tour, but refused to publicly speak out about the situation in Palestine.

Sheeran’s decision to stay neutral on the situation in Gaza and Palestine sparked fury, and since then all remaining support acts have withdrawn from his tour in solidarity with Macklemore and Palestine.

And just when the A Team singer probably thought things couldn’t get any worse for him, he’s now received endorsements from two convicted criminals.

First, Lucy Connolly, who was jailed in 2024 for inciting racial hatred, voiced her support for Sheeran on Tuesday.

She said in a post on X: “I support Ed Sheeran! There is a time and a place for politics, music concerts are not one of them!”

If things couldn't get any worse for Ed Sheeran, a convicted criminal who was jailed for stirring up racial hatred just endorsed his cowardice.

If this wasn’t bad enough, Sheeran then hit a career low as he got vocal backing from racist far-right thug Tommy Robinson.

In a post on X, Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, said he supported Sheeran and “f**k Palestine.”
