Approval of the government's handling of the crisis has dropped from 65 per cent at the beginning of lockdown to just 34 per cent today.
The number of British citizens sitting the naturalisation test was up by a total of 14,600 applications.
Small export companies would be asked to cough up £5,000 each to fund the yacht, with large firms offering more.
The system is one of the key measures introduced to help the return to something approaching normality.
