A rape victim told a court she wants to ‘burn her skin off’ to rid herself of her abuser’s touch.

The woman had crashed out on a sofa at a party but after people left to buy more drink Mark Marchant picked her up and took her down to a bedroom.

He then forced himself on her and when she regained consciousness due to the pain, Marchant pulled her towards him and attempted to have consensual sex.

Marchant, 37, of Cardiff, denied wrongdoing but was convicted of rape following the incident in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Judge Mark Horton jailed him for eight years at Bristol Crown Court.

He told Marchant: “This was a predatory attack on a vulnerable and much younger female when you were under the influence of cocaine and alcohol.”

The judge told Marchant to register as a sex offender for life and barred him from working with children and vulnerable adults.

Speaking behind a screen, the victim read a letter she wrote to Marchant.
