This Sunday the River Thames will host the 160th boat race between Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

Along with Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the FA Cup final and the Open Championship it is one of the most quintessentially British sporting events to be hosted each year.

For those of us looking to watch the race in its entirety and in relative warmth and comfort Brew Cafe in Putney is offering a unique viewing experience. Food and drinks will be served on their stunning terrace,  just a stone’s throw from the Thames, where you can watch the race  on a big screen whilst still being able to soak up the atmosphere of the big day.

Brew will also be offering a pair of race-themed wood fired pizzas to keen spectators, enabling them to show their support in a unique yet tasty way! The Cambridge and Oxford pizzas will represent their respective teams with the ‘Cambridge Cod’ Pizza – topped with flaked cod, potato, mushy peas and tartar sauce, and the ‘Ox-ford Blue Cheese’ Pizza, covered with roast beef, pickled beetroot and blue Stilton.

And if you’re feeling a little less partisan, but still want to party, Brew also serves amazing boutique beers, delightful cocktails, coffee and cake. Speaking of partying, the festivities will continue long after the race is over with live music offering the perfect opportunity to toast the winners and commiserate the losers.

It’s going to be a jam-packed, fun-filled day, so booking at Brew Putney is a must!

Brew Putney – 162-164 Lower Richmond Road, London, SW15 1LY, UK
