A 23-year-old was murdered and another man aged 22 was left fighting for his life after a double stabbing in east London last night.

It is thought the fatal victim was walking home from a kebab shop, celebrating his birthday, while the other was “disembowled.”

The pair were found with knife wounds in Hainault just after 10.20pm.

Despite efforts by police and paramedics the 23-year-old died at the scene while the 22-year-old was taken to hospital where he remains critical.

There have been no arrests and the area remains cordoned off.

Scotland Yard said: “A murder investigation is underway after a stabbing in Hainault.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

“One man, believed aged 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.
