After Johnson won the Tory leadership race Downing Street vowed: “Boris will build a cabinet showcasing all the talents within the party that truly reflect modern Britain.”
A complaint has been lodged with the Office for Statistics Regulation by the End Child Poverty coalition over the Prime Minister’s use of figures.
Mr Johnson has since returned to work as a journalist including writing columns for the Financial Times, where he was said to have earned around £1,000 for two hours work.
The successful applicant will "communicate with the nation on behalf of the Prime Minister".
