The return of roaming fees follows the UK’s departure from the EU, with the bloc having removed roaming charges for people moving around Europe in 2017.
“You could interpret this as the UK having less reach in future," a finance expert has said.
There were a lot of promises thrown around in the lead up to the Brexit vote.
On the subject of Article 16, journalist Nick Tyrone tweeted: "If the UK government triggers Article 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol, it will be the stupidest thing even this government has ever done."

“Therein lies a paradox that troubles many Brexiteers: if 'success' is avoiding the costs of divergence , why did we leave in the first place?," the former Lib Dem leader asked.
Although the government promised to negotiate their recognition with individual European nations, a year later there is still uncertainty over the most popular holiday destinations.
"I thought we would take back control," former Brexit Party MEP June Mummery told the paper.
