‘Still a lot more to come out about the 2019 election’ – Corbyn

"The problem was that we were playing by electoral rules. The media and Boris Johnson were off the leash doing what they like"

Jeremy Corbyn has said there is still “a lot more to come out about the 2019 election” in an exclusive interview with The London Economic.

The Labour Party recorded its worst election result since 1935 in the December poll, although they still managed to win more votes than Tony Blair received in his 2005 victory (10,292,354 compared to 9,566,618).

Boris Johnson’s conduct throughout the campaign was well documented.

At one point he avoided media interviews by hiding in a fridge and he simply refused to be interviewed by Andrew Neil even though all other party leaders had done so.

There was also controversy after a Conservative Twitter account rebranded itself as a fact-checking service during a live TV debate and a fake Labour manifesto was leaked by the opposition which could have confused voters.

Speaking to The London Economic, Corbyn said there is still a lot more to come out about the 2019 election, saying Johnson had agreed to appear on Andrew Neil before backing out.
