Whale shark tracked migrating 12,000 miles, the longest recorded of any species

A female whale shark has travelled more than 12,000 miles in the longest migration ever recorded. The gentle giant, called Anne, was tracked by researchers from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute from the eastern Pacific to the western Indo-Pacific for 20,142 kilometers. Knife crime increases 22% in England & Wales

According to official figures knife crime has increased during 2017 in England and Wales. There has been a spike of 22 per cent in crimes involving knives. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was also an 11 per cent rise in firearm offences. Almost 40,000 offences involving knives or sharp weapons were recorded by police in 2017, and their were 6,600 firearm incidents. Watch 13 trucks line up under a bridge to stop suicide

When a man on a motorway bridge in Michigan was threatening to jump off, trucks lined up underneath to prevent a suicide attempt. The Michigan State Police came up with the ingenuous plan of calling in passing trucks to pull up and park under the bridge to prevent a fatal fall. Sunlight reduces effect of chemical used to disperse oil spills

The Deepwater Horizon disaster turned into one of the biggest environmental tragedies in history - because of the sun, suggests new research.
