After the disgusting events of yesterday at a Church in Normandy, when a Priest was murdered in cold blood, the terrorists’ attentions appear to be turning to London.

There have been images threatening attacks on the UK capital circulating via Telegram, a messaging app used by Islamic terrorists.

The warning for London comes the day after an 85-year-old priest’s throat was slit by two attackers who claimed to represent Islamic State.

After intercepting these communications counter-terror police have warned religious institutions in the UK to be on high alert. Churches across Britain have been given advice on how to keep vigilant amid fears of a copycat situation on UK shores.

According to SITE Intelligence Group, numerous images threatening to attack London and other capital cities are being shared with jihadi groups.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said: “Following recent events in France, we are reiterating our protective security advice to Christian places of worship and have circulated specific advice today.

“We are also taking this opportunity to remind them to review their security arrangements as a precaution.

He continued: “There is no specific intelligence relating to attacks against the Christian community in the UK.

“However, as we have seen, Daesh and other terrorist groups have targeted Christian as well as Jewish and other faith groups in the West and beyond. While the threat from terrorism remains unchanged at severe we urge the public to be vigilant.”
