A poll in Pink News in conjunction with You Gov has found some shocking news on the UK’s views on homosexuality.

YouGov asked 1,609 adults between July 23 and 24 on their political and social views.

Shockingly it found 42% of those who gave an opinion said that personally speaking, “gay sex is not natural”.

The survey also found supporters of the Conservatives and Brexit were more likely to oppose gay rights than Labour or Remain voters.

Among Brexit voters, 59 per cent said gay sex was unnatural, compared to a quarter of Remain voters. The difference is marked and illustrates the different world outlook between people who want to stay and those who hope to leave the European project.

Sixty-eight per cent of Brexit supporters said children should not be taught about gay relationships in primary school, compared to 29 per cent of Remain voters.

Fifty per cent of leave voters did not approve of gay men becoming parents, compared to 78 per cent of Remain voters who generally approved.

Journalism in Britain is under threat. The government is becoming increasingly authoritarian and our media is run by a handful of billionaires, most of whom reside overseas and all of them have strong political allegiances and financial motivations.

Our mission is to hold the powerful to account. It is vital that free media is allowed to exist to expose hypocrisy, corruption, wrongdoing and abuse of power. But we can't do it without you.
