Rick Stein Pop Up Picture Company

Following the sell-out success of last year’s event at the Old Town Hall building in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, The Pop-Up Picture Company will return this summer. Like last year’s event, which teamed two-courses of comfort food from two Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge with classic movie screenings, Rick Stein has been announced as this summer’s guest chef.

Each set in stunning locations, the Pop-Up Picture Company’s summer launch will take place in two different surroundings. Entitled Rick Stein’s Sunset Cinema, the event will debut at Buckinghamshire’s historic Cliveden House, in the famous walled Spa Garden, from 21st June. The cinema will also ‘pop -up’ at Chewton Glen Hotel, on the edge of the New Forest, in Hampshire from 9th July.

At both locations, guests can (perhaps unsurprisingly) expect a menu of summer-inspired seafood dishes curated by Rick Stein. The menu will use the finest seafood and produce, sourced from Rick’s trusted suppliers and the local area where possible, and will include diverse menus featuring lamb, a vegetarian option and plenty of Rick’s signature seafood dishes. Each evening will feature the screening of a different film, including the likes of La La Land, Grease, The Deer Hunter and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.

Speaking on the event, Rick said: “I’ve always loved going to the cinema, but sometimes I just love making myself something delicious to eat, putting on a great movie and settling down for the evening. The Pop-Up Picture Company is a perfect combination of all these elements – that great cinema atmosphere, with dinner served to the comfort of your sofa and the added bonus of simply stunning locations. I’m really looking forward to the summer!”

Tom Kerridge, one of the four friends that initially came up with the Pop-Up Picture House concept, is set to continue his involvement with this summer’s event. During each screening, Tom’s famous ice cream will be served ‘usherette style’, carrying on from the original Pop-Up Picture House.

Following Rick Stein’s Sunset Cinema, the Pop-Up Picture Company is set to host an eclectic programme of events held in various locations across the UK, with more top chefs on board.

Further information on The Pop-Up Picture Company events and details on accessing  priority bookings to the screenings can be found at popuppicturecompany.co.uk. A full itinerary of screenings and accompanying menus can also be found at the Pop-Up Picture Company website.
