Cancer Bats must be wondering what they are doing in a tiny disused train station nestled between the iconic white cliffs of Dover. “I guess we can tick ‘Freaky, dystopian train station’ off our list of places to play,” frontman Liam Cormier quips in the close confines of the Booking Hall.

Lucky for the punk-faithful of Dover, then, because tonight goes OFF, with Cancer Bats bringing their A-game to these shimmering shores. There’s also spirited support of the thrash variety with newcomers Hive Mind, and the spazzcore flavour of Operation Kino.

TLE tog Richard Broome had to get down with the masses to capture this sickeningly close look at Canada’s finest punk export.
