Australian alt-pop group Cub Sport have released the video for “Good Guys Go” – the third official single off of their sophomore album, BATS.

The track is about an unfortunately common theme; being in a relationship where you’re doing everything you can to keep the other person up and make sure they’re happy, but that attention and love isn’t being reciprocated.

Inspired by hearing similar situations told to him by friends over and over, lead singer Tim Nelson explains:

“I wrote Good Guys Go about an imbalanced relationship where emotional labour was going unrecognized. I saw the toll this cycle took, where one person was continually working so much harder than the other to keep the relationship afloat. I hope this song offers some sort of comfort to people who have felt the same.”

Directed by Joe Agius, the video is a dark neon fantasy. Inspired by images from fashion magazines and some of their favourite looks and moments from Michael Jackson, TLC, and Perfume Genius, the clip features Nelson dancing bathed in blue and pink neon light.

“We shot the video in real time with one roaming camera, which felt important for capturing the right mood and intensity for the song. Joe has a beautiful eye for colours and I feel like the palette throughout the clip compliments the song perfectly” – Tim Nelson

Cub Sport will travel to the UK for two special shows at London’s The Waiting Room on May 8th and 9th. Tickets here: https://tickets.lnk.to/CubSport
