See MASONS story MNCAR: The UK's first driverless car hit the streets for the first time yesterday (tues) for trial tests which were deemed a success. The self-driving vehicles were being trialed carrying passengers while the cars operated entirely without human control. The two-seater pods, which are similar to Smart cars in appearance, are versions of the Lutz Pathfinder, the UK's first driverless car. A police Land Rover that has been spray painted silver.  Police in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire, are appealing for information following a criminal damage incident. Sometime between 9.30pm last night (10th October) and 4.45am this morning on Royd Villas where a Police Land Rover was painted silver.  See ROSS PARRY story RPYSILVER.  Neighbourhood Inspector John Simpson said: "Some people might find this funny but the extent of the damage means that this vital emergency vehicle will be off the road whilst it is repaired at a cost. It is a specialist vehicle used to access the more rural areas of Calderdale and as such is an essential vehicle for the local communities."
