Usually closed to the public during the weekend, Merchant House of Fleet Street will be open from 4pm-1am on Saturday 19th May to host a one-of-a-kind World Whisky Day celebration.

Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to sample a rare single malt that will never be seen again, with The Dingle Distillery pulling a surprise ‘Dream Dram’ from one of its currently ageing casks in Ireland. The ‘Dream Dram’ will be served on the house, to raise a toast to World Whisky Day 2018, ‘until the dram is dry’.

Ireland’s first independently owned, purpose built whiskey distillery to open in over 100 years, The Dingle Distillery distils just two casks of whiskey each day, with each cask distilled and matured in Dingle, County Kerry, where the elements of its coastal location contribute to the whiskey’s unique profile.

In addition to showcasing the ‘Dream Dram’, Merchant House of Fleet Street will also offer 50 per cent discount on its entire collection of over 500 whiskies from across the globe. Moreover, the bar’s founder and Head Mixologist, Nate Brown, has also crafted a bespoke cocktail menu, using The Dingle Distillery’s rare, limited edition pot still whiskey (with only 600 bottles produced). Featuring Dingle Distillery Pot Still Whiskey, Amaro, blackcurrant and soda – the ‘Dingle Blackcurrant Picking’ is served long and relatively simple to recreate at home.

Ingredients

6/10 Dingle Distillery Pot Still Whiskey

1/10 Amaro

1/10 Blackcurrant

2/10 Soda

To Garnish

Edible flower

Micro herbs

Method

Build all ingredients, carefully, in an ice filled tumbler.

Garnish with micro herbs.

Top with an edible flower and serve immediately.

Further information on The Dingle Distillery can be found here.
