David Davis has been called to resign over lies about the Brexit impact assessments.

The Brexit Secretary was today forced to admit that the government has not assessed the impact of Brexit for different sections of economy to the EU select committee.

He said assessments across several industries were never carried out because “the range of different outcomes is too wide”.

But the revelations are in stark contrast to what he said in front of the same committee in December 2016.

On 14th December Davis said: “We are in the midst of carrying out about 57 sets of analysis, each has implications for individual parts of 85 per cent of the economy.

“Some of these are still to be concluded.

See the transcript in full from the House of Commons library:

Despite the below David Davis now insists no impact assessments have been carried out by gov;

So, did ministers mislead House over the impact assessments?

Did they think they’d never have to publish them thus getting away with it?

Or is there a completely innocent explanation? https://t.co/eXFUmEGV8n
