EU overcomes Hungary veto threat to seal £42bn aid package for Ukraine

The veto came after leaders had voted to open negotiations on the war-torn country joining the EU.
Mr Orban described “Brussels bureaucrats” and President Zelensky as elements of an “overwhelming force” that his party had overcome.
“We won a victory so big that you can see it from the moon, and you can certainly see it from Brussels,” the Hungarian prime minister said.
Even Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orban has spoken in favour of Ukrainian refugees, saying this week that his country can “tell the difference between who is a migrant and who is a refugee.”
“Will Boris Johnson challenge the Hungarian PM on his appalling track record? I wouldn’t hold my breath,” Lisa Nandy said.
