The Labour leader was understood to be in talks on Monday, after pulling out of a scheduled event.
"I am sure the families of Jo Cox and David Amess are thrilled to hear their murders are not "that big a deal"", one person responded.
“The prime minister should be taking emergency action today but yet again he’s failed to grasp the seriousness of the crisis," Starmer said.
A Labour MP said: "What on earth do we stand for, what does Keir stand for?”
