An employment tribunal has ruled that Jonas Gutierrez was dropped by Newcastle United because of his cancer diagnosis. The Argentinian midfielder had a clause in his contract that would trigger an extension to his deal, but he was denied a deal through appearances, a decision made by the then club manager Alan Pardew.
