Ex-Newcastle United star Peter Beardsley has been accused of more racist comment as coach of the Newcastle United under-23 side

Beardsley, who also played for England, future at the club looks in turmoil according to the Evening Chronicle.

During his playing days with the national side fellow forward Gary Lineker, Beardsley as “the best partner I could ever have”.

The under-23s coach has already taken “a period of leave” from the club while an investigation into claims of racial abuse and bullying takes place.

The new claims, reported in The Times, allegedly came to light during the investigation when the club interviewed all of their under-23 and under-18 players, as well as every member of staff.

Several academy players are understood to have testified that Beardsley told a group of African players that “you lot should be better runners.”

A further incident is said to have involved Mr Beardsley of hearing some players speaking in Arabic an he accused them of speaking in a “made up language.”

The allegation that was already being held against Beardsley was that he said “your lot should be good at this” to African players struggling to climb during a visit to the theme park Go Ape.

Beardsley has categorically denied the allegations.
