Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is in France for a medical with Paris St Germain, reports PA.

PSG look set to secure the signature of a player for whom they had bids rejected in January.

The 29-year-old Senegal international joined Everton in 2016 after a season with Aston Villa, having previously been at Lille.

Everton’s Idrissa Gueye applauds the fans after the final whistle during the Premier League match at London Stadium.

He has made 99 Premier League appearances for the Toffees, scoring three goals.

Everton boss Marco Silva was quoted by the Liverpool Echo on Saturday as saying of Gueye: “Of course, we don’t know what will happen with Gana and there is a lot of speculation but let’s see what will happen in the next few days.

“We as a club, we hope to keep him because he is a really important player for us but the market is open and like we are trying to buy some players, some clubs can be interested in our players also.”
