The internet reacts to Boris Johnson’s Halloween nightmare
Despite an October 31 withdrawal looking increasingly unlikely, Johnson had vowed he would rather be “dead in a ditch” than delay it - a great look for Halloween costumes.
Despite an October 31 withdrawal looking increasingly unlikely, Johnson had vowed he would rather be “dead in a ditch” than delay it - a great look for Halloween costumes.
Boris Johnson was also named the ghastliest figure of the 21st century by two-thirds of British children and adults, as October 31 looks increasingly likely to be celebrated as non-Brexit day as well as Halloween.
If the European Union gives the UK a Brexit delay until January 31 then the pro-Remain parties are prepared to give the PM the opportunity to have an election on new terms.
It comes as the PM vowed to push for an election if EU leaders sanction a Brexit extension of up to three months.
The Prime Minister said he would put a pause on the Bill until the EU decides whether to grant a delay.
MPs were not prepared to accept the tight timetable demanded by the Government in a bid to ensure there was no further delay to Brexit.
MPs will cast their initial vote on the PM’s Withdrawal Agreement Bill (WAB) before being asked to back his accelerated timetable to hurry the legislation through Parliament.
In a second note to European Council president Donald Tusk, the PM said a Brexit extension would be “deeply corrosive”.
The forecasts published by the government show the agreement would strip 6.7 per cent from the UK’s expected path of GDP growth between now and 2034.
