Sarah Pochin was put in her place by a government minister after an attempted ‘gotcha’ question in the House of Commons.
Just a month after testing the patience of the speaker of the House for refusing to give way, Pochin has once again been humbled in Parliament.
On Monday, the Reform MP stood up to ask defence minister Luke Pollard a question.
She claimed that a “reliable source” had informed her that Keir Starmer has “never visited our Special Forces headquarters in Hereford.”
The Runcorn and Helsby asked if this was a “reflection of low down his priorities list defence is?”

The question drew murmurs of discontent and disgruntlement from several MPs who were present in the chamber to respond to an urgent question on the government’s Defence Investment Plan.
In response though, Pollard reminded Pochin about certain government protocols.
“I know she’s relatively new to this house,” Pollard said.
The Labour minister told Pochin that the government does not comment on Special Forces.
“It’s a really important rule, we neither confirm nor deny activities or visits to any Special Forces location. We do that because any question that helps define who is where or what they’re doing is a benefit to our adversaries.
“I appreciate she’s looking for a ‘gotcha’ question but we don’t comment on Special Forces.”
“You will not get me nor any other government minister commenting on special forces and may I suggest to her that next time she thinks carefully about asking questions like that again.”
