Air pollution ‘wipes at least a year off your life’, researchers find

People living in Britain have one and a half years slashed from their life expectancy due to air pollution, warns new research. Dirty air also causes double the number of deaths than previously thought, according to the study. Four-hour A&E wait target could be scrapped

The four-hour target that aims to ensure 95% of patients are seen to within that time frame might be about to be scrapped. It was introduced in 2004, to  improve patient care, but last month only two hospital trusts achieved it.
