A young boy is fighting for his life after being stabbed in the back on his way home from school.
The 15-year-old was rushed to hospital suffering from multiple injuries and remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Emergency services rushed him from the main road in Forest Hill to a south London hospital shortly after 4pm yesterday (Mon).
A police spokesman confirmed today (Tues) the boy remains in critical condition and no arrests have been made, but his next of kin has been informed.
Some locals said the teenager was stabbed four times and the knife was embedded in his back when emergency services arrived.
The shocking knifing took place on a busy south east London road, close to a primary school, library and leisure centre.
Labour MP for Lewisham West and Penge Ellie Reeves tweeted: “Extremely sorry to hear about the stabbing on Dartmouth Road this afternoon.
“I am in close contact with the police and my thoughts are with the victim who I hope has a speedy recovery from this terrible act.”
The attack happened just days after 17-year-old Abdirashid Mohamoud was stabbed to death after being chased by a gang in Isleworth, west London.
He was the seventh teenager to be knifed to death in the capital this year.
