Frustrated KFC fans have ruffled the feathers of cops by calling them to complain about the chicken crisis that has seen hundreds of shops closed.

So many calls were received by police in east London about the lack of KFC that they had to take to Twitter to warns people there was nothing they could do.

Tower Hamlets Police tweeted: “Please do not contact us about the #KFCCrisis – it is not a police matter if your favourite eatery is not serving the menu that you desire.”

Frustrated KFC fans have ruffled the feathers of cops by calling them to complain about the chicken crisis that has seen hundreds of shops closed.

Twitter user @MooresGhost replied: “Thanks for letting us know. I was going to contact you about the #KFCCrisis, but your explanation has calmed me down, and I won’t now.”

Police were not able to say just how many calls they had received about #KFC, but a Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We would like to remind callers not to misuse the service.”

The crisis that has seen hundreds of KFC branches close around the country has been blamed on delivery firm DHL, who missed several deliveries.

KFC has warned that open branches may be operating a limited menu and shorter hours.
