March was a mellow one, wasn’t it? So much so I had to put a special call-out to our followers on Twitter to get in touch with some heavier jams (thanks for bringing Greyhaven to my attention, peeps!).

Not that there isn’t joy to be had in some of this month’s gentlest releases. ‘bless ur heart’ has us hyped for serpentwithfeet’s silky and soulful debut soil, while new Grouper sees the Oregon-born ambient artist enveloped in tangible keys and ephemeral reverb.

Bonny Doon, Mount Eerie and Soccer Mommy keep things decidedly low-key this month, though it isn’t enough to suppress the squall of Jericho Sirens – the new LP from Hot Snakes, and a glossier new effort from blues metallers Zeal & Ardor, who you can catch at TLE festival favourite ArcTanGent this year.

And don’t miss ‘Addicitions’ by Lucy Dacus, who’s second full-length Historian has sleeper-hit Jay Som vibes all over it. Killer track. Killer album. Not bad for a quiet one, eh?
